Did you use any fancy HDR techniques or just curves?

I do not remember for sure, but I definitely did not use HDR. I might have exposed separately for the sky. The only thing I remember is that I spent too much time evening out the exposure variations because I forgot to use the same setting in the RAW converter for all the images. It is not worth it, I tell you! Either use an HDR stitcher (like Autopano) or put up with the quality hit (from using the same exposure).

No polarizer. Wouldn't that make stitching more difficult, because the polarizer's response would change as you rotate?

Very intriguing Pano. I only wish I had the patience to attempt one myself.
