cherlyn 1 Posted June 7, 2006 First, it's the sand ripples that caught my attention. The log, to me, adds an interesting isolation element. My eyes move from fg to the distance of what lay beyond & back to the fg again to rest on the log. I have just taken a fruitful journey & were now taking a rest on the log "-) Link to comment
sondra kick 0 Posted June 9, 2006 David, I like the wonderful dof and patterns in the mud, it just seems to go on forever. The log in the fg doesn't bother me, it just leads the eye to the distant trees. Cheers, Sondra Link to comment
davidroossien 0 Posted June 20, 2006 Hi David. One thing you might consider is brightening the foreground and darkening the area of beach in the upper left. It creates a pull toward the water, and more of a windswept look out there. I gave this clarify, level 3 in Paintshop Pro, and tried to keep the overall contrast about the same as your original. It also increased the brightness of the highlights in the upper right, which now serves to balance the darker area in the upper left. Just an idea... Link to comment
david robinson 0 Posted June 20, 2006 Thanks again folks for your feedback. David, I really like what you did here to strengthen this image. I particularly like the effect this had on toning down the distant bay. This might have to be tweaked a bit as I notice some 'interference (JPEG?) in the ripples midway. Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted July 2, 2006 David, I immediately liked the 'vertical versus horizontal' feel to this. The background seems to draw the eye and mind to the distance giving a strong sense of space and depth. Link to comment
minicucci 0 Posted July 9, 2006 David: I like this one. Very crisp, clean. The essence of a bright morning. Composition is coherent for me. Lovely tones. (And the red channel, all by itself, is a magnificent B&W.) Link to comment
