Of course I like horse pictures but this composition has some other interesting details, lots of graphic interest with all the old windbreak fence and the foreground rope. And I think that wild pony is about to escape, tells a great story. You might consider cropping down from the top a little and elimanating that bit of sky.

Very nice photo here Kellen. The smooth blackness of the horse is such an interesting contrast to the rest of the grey. I like the symetry and the composition of the photo alot. What a nice place to visit. I know the Fall will be beautiful where you are at, i hope to see more photos of the fall. Thanks for visiting my site again. Warm regards, Tanya.

Out of my heart.., (seeing no "stories" in the photo before..) I just see what I would have watched.., being there..! I hardly ever saw a horse in such an unbelievable beautiful way.., framed by that partial "folden " fence. Where I was standing seeing this..? Behind that terrible aweful rope of course ..! haha. Call imidiately the police for a "cropping permission!" Hi Kellen, Hi young mam..,Grandpa Olaf was here.

This is one of my favorites - the rope doesn't bother me - I think it adds more depth and another element. If the rope weren't there, you would have too much foreground and somebody would point that out. And if you took away the foreground, then you wouldn't have got this same shot. This way it adds "layers". I really like it!

I was just looking in a grafic and aesthetic way of composing. It's hard to devide that from Kellens shot and her way of doing that, but that point of view was in my mind. Because of that a tried the humorous way of expressing. Trying, not to upset the photographer, for there is no reason for that. It's Kellens choise, loving it in this way and able to share her feelings with friends picking that up. Without the rope she would have gone closer, shooting the image I was seeing, by making a frame/hole of my hand. Watching.. now.., haha, I (..!) would crop the sky and the bottom untill 5 mm beneath the rope. The rope is getting stronger and the white sand in front will have gone, making the total tones and B&W ballance nicer. See my commenting just as afterwards digging for gold. Kellen did found it over there and here in Holland is somebody looking for some more. For Kellen, GOLD it is..!!! See you both! :) Olaf
