warren_baird 0 Posted February 1, 2002 My main question is whether the falling off of the sky's colour due to the polarizing lens is distracting... Is there any way to avoid this effect? I've contemplated digitally altering the sky to make it a more consistent blue - would it be worth it? Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted February 1, 2002 I like the sky the way it is. No sky is consistently coloured to the horizon. It ties together nicely with the shading in the snow and the warm colour in the grass. Beautiful shot. Link to comment
chuck 0 Posted February 1, 2002 I think cropping out the sky a little to put the horizon at 1/3 the way down the image concentrates viewer's attention on the expanse of the snow and the form of the weeds Link to comment
kyle_rhorer 0 Posted February 1, 2002 The curvature of the sky falloff works perfectly with the curvature of the reeds and adds to the surrealism. An excellent shot! Link to comment
billc 0 Posted February 1, 2002 Don't touch it... On one of the previous comments it was mentioned that sky coloration varies considerably. True. Not only that, but I'm a sucker for fully saturated colors, and this picture has it in spades. Loved the shot as is, and coming from Western New York, I know how true the shot can be in winter. dustinhenry 0 Posted February 1, 2002 I'd say don't crop it. I think the image isn't balanced enough with the sky cropped away. Link to comment
warren_baird 0 Posted February 2, 2002 Hi all, Thanks for the comments... I did think about cropping this guy to bring the horizon to the 1/3 line... But I decided that I really liked the sky the way it was. Thanks again. Link to comment
