piotr_rotecki 0 Posted May 16, 2006 This is one of those shots that I like, but cant truly explain why. I was setting up for a different shot and saw this in my viewfinder, liked what I saw and quickly took the shot. I guess I like it because it reminds me of a movie or comic book scene. I would love to hear any comments or feelings that you have about this shot. Thanks. Link to comment
casey a 0 Posted May 16, 2006 Great photo! I think that there are times when taking the shot at an angle works, and there are times when it seems unnecessary. This is one of those times when it really works well. It adds a sense of chaos that is indicative of New York. The photo has a great sense of place, meaning that even at a short glance I can tell exactly where it was taken. Again, fantastic shot! 6/6 Link to comment
detd 0 Posted May 16, 2006 The diagonal rotation gives a certain dynamic to the scene. I have the feeling I fly into it, with high speed, trying to stabilize myself... The exposure is well done, the lights are superb!Regards, Detlev Link to comment
albertzablit 0 Posted May 16, 2006 This looks straight out of a dark comic strip. It's amazing how the angle of view and the vehicules' layout manages to suck you right in the scene and transpose you to another era. It looks modern, but from another dimension, is what I'm trying to say. My eyes are currently fixated at the top of the farback skyscraper, the one bathing in the fog. What also intrigues me is that there is no pedestrian to be seen anywhere at all! It gives the scene quite a dark industrial nightmarish feel to it, deserted from humans and controlled by machines that wizz by in a frenetic constant repetition. Quite remarkable my friend, keep rolling! Albert Z. edit: personnally, i'd remove the bus driver you see in the foreground, hence giving the scene a more completely human-free life. Link to comment
piotr_rotecki 0 Posted May 16, 2006 Great idea about taking out the driver, but this is one of those rare shots where I did no digital alterations and wanted to keep it that way. Thanks for the critiques. Link to comment
yves_jalbert 0 Posted June 5, 2006 All that's missing is the steam that comes out of manholes during cold winters and that would have been a mind blowing photograph. I find it very original and interesting. A photograph that anybody would be proud to have in their portfolio. Congratulations. Very well executed. Link to comment
