haleh b 0 Posted May 18, 2006 See! You should really just enjoy this image or any other one for that matter without worrying about the photographer's level of expertise. Link to comment
amin_ostovari 0 Posted May 19, 2006 Im getting paid for the work i do, but still its not as good as this, what does that make me?? Link to comment
magumi 0 Posted May 19, 2006 Yes, it was meant as a compliment - someone like Howard Schatz has innumerably more resources, special staff and expensive models. It is remarkable that the photographer was able to achieve this kind of result. As for my "weird" comments, I always aim to help and when I critize, I never fail to explain the why's and how's. No inexplicably low ratings from me. Link to comment
george_andreou 0 Posted May 19, 2006 I'm not worried about the photographer's level of expertise; it wasn't me who made the comment about pro/amateur. Of course it doesn't matter what they are, but there's nothing wrong with stating the distinction between a pro and an amateur. Link to comment
longtang_lin 0 Posted May 20, 2006 7/7.. Gee... This is so beattiful and so original.. At 1st glance,, I almost thought this photo is taken in studio and process by PS.. But the bubble is so natural and real.. My question.. The water should stir more as the girl sink into water ??? Regardless, it deserve 7/7.. I would appreciate if you tell us how to make this kind of photo ?? John Lin Link to comment
jonathancharlesphoto 2 Posted May 20, 2006 It's an interesting and well-executed photo - I especially like the net. For me the contrast is rather high with loss of tonality in the highlights and there seems to be a lot of sharpening effect (though this may be photo.net's compression process). I was puzzled by your silghtly paranoic response to Martin Mikolajek'c quite reasonable comment - I guess you felt that being called amateur was an insult but I am sure that was not the intention. You have to accept that Howard Schatz has practically made his professional reputation with this genre so there are bound to be references to his work when people see a photo like yours. It is still a very considerable technical challenge and you have succeeded admirably, adding you own special imagination. Best wishes, Jonathan PS the response I was referring to has now been altered - this is a good feature of photo.net but can lead to some "orphaned" comments which are difficult to understand later. trisha jean-angela 5 Posted July 3, 2009 Beautiful! Why have I just now seen this? Oh, how I wish I could do underwater photography...maybe someday! Until then, I will enjoy the fine works of others; such as yourself. Absolutely beautiful. Link to comment
