biggerjon 0 Posted May 15, 2006 I really like this. the aspect is quite interesting and does justice to the shapes involved. What treatment has this had (in PShop I assume) whatever it is it does the subject justice IMO. Link to comment

newfocus 0 Posted May 15, 2006 Hi Jon, I tried a new technique for the first time. I colourised the image to a sepia tone using a hue/saturation layer, but then set the blending option to 'Hue' rather than 'Normal'. The result is that everything in the original image takes on the sepia tone to some extent, but the more saturated bits of the original (green moss round the tree roots and blue sky) pick up a strong sepia colour and the less saturated bits (tree trunk and grey clouds) stay fairly grey. The rest of the processing is usual monochrome stuff - curves, levels and a bit of hand dodge and burn. cheers, John. Link to comment
corbin 0 Posted May 15, 2006 Very dramatic. The angle, the composition, the treatment, all work very well. Link to comment
jc-photography 0 Posted May 16, 2006 Absolutely enchanting image John. Your perspective and composition of such a busy scene is excellent, the whole image is so alive that I keep looking for Goblins amongest the tree trunks.... Thanks for the insight into your toning technique too, very interesting. Link to comment
