Very pleasant photo. What are those greens and why are they so highlighted?

the green spots are some lychens or moss. I don't know for sure. They were reflecting the fading light, which made them stand out so much.

Great picture. Would have loved to see it in a larger size to really appreciate it. A very minor niggle, is the light coloured object (paper ? can ? ) among the pebbles in the foreground

Prakash, you have good eyes. That white spot is distracting. It is actually a piece of driftwood. There was tons of it on the beach. It was what I originally wanted to photograph, but later I decided that the green spot was capturing my attention more and more. You can take a look at one of the other photos taken at the same spot to see more of the driftwood. It is here.

Exceptional photograph for several reasons. First, the film and exposure make for an image that is aesthetically pleasing on many levels. Second, it is not often that someone photographs at Pebble Beach yet chooses to concentrate on the minor details rather than the grand view. Third, I like the arrangement of the rocks for a unique pattern. Absolutely my favorite of your three rocks-and-water photos in this folder.
