bob_t 0 Posted January 30, 2002 Taken through my kitchen window. I was trying to snap pics of birds eating berries when this one just took off. I got a lucky shot of him. Link to comment
alistair_dove1 0 Posted January 30, 2002 terrific shot! great luck too. pity bout the frog, but thats a minor irritation. Link to comment
kevin7 0 Posted January 31, 2002 that's a very cool shot. like the saturated greens and blues as well. if you don't like the frog, that gives you a new photoshop assignment. or try some different crops. very nice. Link to comment
squirrelman 0 Posted January 31, 2002 Great capture. The frog's presence is interesting, albeit a bit distracting. Link to comment
jodie coston 0 Posted January 31, 2002 Between the colors and the actual perfect focus on the bird's face and the framing (with it flying right at you, nonetheless!) I would think I would be just tickled with this photo. I can't rate it because the frog is aggravating, but I applaud your quick camera trigger finger. Link to comment
rachel_odder_williams1 0 Posted January 31, 2002 Looks like the hawk is about to get the frog and is flustered by your intruding lens :-) Great shot. Link to comment
anil_dharni 0 Posted January 31, 2002 It is definitely a terrific shot, though i am not sure whether the bird was swooping for the frog or not! Link to comment
gerald_renville 0 Posted January 31, 2002 Incredible. I would be very proud of that shot! Link to comment
carlo_pistono 0 Posted January 31, 2002 Very great shot...and great luck too ! Good sharpness and colours saturation Link to comment
bob_t 0 Posted January 31, 2002 I really want to thank you one and all for taking the time to comment and rate. I personally didn't think that much of it, I mainly was interested because it was just "some old bird sittin on a branch" shot. I guess what I can learn from this is that you can't get a lucky shot if you aren't out there shooting! Cropping it to eliminate Mr. Froggy doesnt' really take away from the shot. Thanks again everyone. Bob. Link to comment
jon71 0 Posted February 1, 2002 Outsanding! The croped ver. is great. Even a touch of catch light, what else could ya' ask for! Link to comment
Wayne Melia 6,075 Posted February 1, 2002 Great capture and (especially the cropped version) the colour contrast makes it stand just on the shapes Link to comment
mdpavoni 0 Posted February 1, 2002 vivid, in your face dynamic shot. great capture. brilliant color. like the crop. Link to comment
steve_strawn 0 Posted February 1, 2002 Holy crap this is cool. I agree, much better without Mr. Toad. Link to comment
vadim1 0 Posted February 1, 2002 Wow, this is an amazing shot. The cropped version is better. I'm impressed with the sharpness of the bird. I mean it was flying right at the lens, and you got it dead on! Catch light is good too. Contrasts are fab! Congratulations on this photo! Link to comment
ken_thalheimer 3,739 Posted February 2, 2002 Great grab on this shot and much more appealing with the frog gone Link to comment
arthur sevestre 0 Posted February 6, 2002 Most dynamic! Great sharpness in the face. The cropped version is much better! Compliments! Link to comment
mhofmann 0 Posted February 26, 2002 The cropping actually makes it a better photograph, positioning the bird more towards the upper/right third of the frame than the center. Link to comment
tyro 0 Posted December 29, 2002 Is that a real toad or a stone toad? I would like the original shot better than the cropped version if it wasnt for the toad. Cool shot nonetheless. Link to comment
sean_oflaherty 0 Posted July 7, 2003 The great thing about this picture is the way the head and eyes stay in focus while the wings are blurred, as well as the way the bird appears to be looking at the camera. Link to comment
