Being an infrared rookie, this is my first post. I struggled with the

colors. Thank you for any comments or critique.

Very suggestive snapshot!

Please add more detail (aperture, time, focal).

Do you changed something with some photo software (photoShop or other)?

6/6.

Compliments

Exceptional image. I love the contrasting tones. The image is quite peaceful. The composition is perfect. Definitely a 7/7.

So both of us are started IR about the same time. I am too struggling with the tones. Wish I can get one like yours. Can share some tips for taking IR?

First of all my appologies for this late reply and second I want thank you all for your kind comments.

Massimiliano, I've added the complete exif date to 'details'. Furthermore I used Camera Raw to open the photo but I did the tweaking in Photoshop. To start I straightend and cropped the photo. Then I used auto curves, color balance and selective hue and saturation (to compensate for a lens flare in the middle).

Cherlyn, some tips..... well be very aware of lens flares, that's what I learned these days. My dimage has a tiny scratch on the multicoated lens. Normally I don't have any problems with this but it seems IR is far more sensitive. Prolly because the coating is not designed for IR. About the colors, I looked at IR photographs of other IR photographers and tried to approach their colors using photoshop. I downloaded a IR-action for photoshop but I wasn't satisfied with the results. Maybe because my Cokin 007 filter has a different overall tint and because my dimage registers the IR in a different way. Also I ended up with a lot of noise so I tried it manually.

I have posted 6 IR photos at this moment but non has the same settings. I try to find the right tint for the right mood. Without overdoing of course. I don't think this is the right way..... but it works for me :). With IR I also noticed that a combination of water, green vegetation and a mildly clouded sky give great results. The clouds often add dramatic light.
