Preparing to dance

Getting close to recital time at the local dance studio. The girls

are lined up and in their starting positions, ready to dance.

What I like about this photograph is that I can feel the nervousness of this little girl, as she waits for the moment. I think it's her posture that does it.

I do like the detail in this image. I do feel the crop is a little too tight but that may add to the tension.

I like the details in her hair. I am of two minds about the crop. In some ways, I wish it was less tight and that there was more space, on the other hand, David's point is well taken regarding the tension. I see this image and for some reason imagine a stern disciplinarian standing close by. By far, the best of the three images in the folder so far.

Thanks, David & Amar. The close crop was intentional with the purpose of accentuating the dancer's level of concentration.
