mottershead 0 Posted January 30, 2002 Nathaniel, unfortunately for the ratings, this photograph was selected by the elves for the Photocritique, where it is rated by everyone who happens by, and an unconventional shot like this will tend to get slammed. Don't be discouraged; it is much better than the ratings indicate. Link to comment
nathanielpaust 0 Posted January 31, 2002 On the contrary, I really don't mind the ratings. I rate things fairly harshly and I'd give this image 5's. I should mention why I liked this photo enough to upload... it's just the pastel colors. I had my bed shoved in the corner of my New Mexico apartment. The whole room had just amazing light and some of the best photos that I've taken were right there in front of the bed. Every time I look at this photo, I think pleasently of my time in NM and some of the photos that I took there. Link to comment
gss 0 Posted January 31, 2002 Actually I like this photo is some ways. A bit unorthodox but a good deal of 'good' photography is just that. I liked the colors, which make this photo catch the eye, the curve of the covers and the obvious slept in condition emote a curiosity that I would like more of my photos to elicit. And, of course, this is a photo of where the human race spends half of its time. Nice. Link to comment
rdwhiteman 0 Posted January 31, 2002 This should work better than it does. Nice colors, lighting and detail. Keep working on this idea especially with the compositiion of the light/dark areas. Maybe a snoozing cat? That bright orange spot, lower left, distracts. Perhaps blocking some of the light for a narrower beam of light? Don't forget the tripod. Link to comment
straycat 0 Posted January 31, 2002 This has beautiful subdued colors that caught my eye immediately. Thankfully you held back on turning up the Photoshop color volume. Good job. Link to comment
