dusty2004 0 Posted May 7, 2006 This area is a very well known tourist attraction. It has been photographed by many. My aim was to create an image with impact and mood. To find another way rather than the stereotyped images available in the tourist shops. Link to comment
matthew hall 0 Posted May 7, 2006 Good shot, for me the blacks patches are to present. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted May 7, 2006 Superb landscape! wonderful color and detail. I think you were dead accurate in using the portrait aspect rather than the landscape aspect. The dark foreground is exactly right. It pushes the eye up towards the brush in the water and the mountain itself. I can't imagine any sugestions for improvement. Link to comment
rjacksonphoto 0 Posted May 7, 2006 Other than cropping off a little of the bottom, I wouldn't change this. Very moody. I think you succeeded in moving beyond the usual tourist shot. Nice job! Link to comment
carsten_ranke 0 Posted May 7, 2006 Very well exposed and composed landscape, a scenery with awesome light. I would not change a thing, but have tech remarks: as a corollary of the high compression (large version is too large for PN restrictions) there are nasty jpeg compression artifacts, surely not in the original. And the transition zone around the mountains is white artifact, possibly due to the compression too (?). I suggest a new upload, sized about 800 wide maximal. Besides this tech stuff a fantastic landscape Link to comment
atdeleted 0 Posted May 7, 2006 Great mood, lovely exposed. Although I would crop it a little from the bottom. Link to comment
kahkityoong 0 Posted May 8, 2006 Superb landscape. One of the best shots of this much-photographed area I have seen and you have certainly created atmosphere which is almost palpable. My only criticism is that the foreground is too dark. I realise that it does create a better balance but some more detail is essential, just a slight nudge with the shadow tool would do the job. Otherwise a dark foreground with no detail would just as well be cropped. Link to comment
rjacksonphoto 0 Posted May 9, 2006 Looking at this again, I'm curious about the white line along the right edge of both mountains. It almost looks like a composite or a sharpening artifact. Any idea? Link to comment
driosa 0 Posted May 9, 2006 Great photo, I will like to see just little more highlights on the stones in the foreground...anyway nicely done! Link to comment
pressuredbyphotons 5 Posted May 11, 2006 Amazing how the texture of the plant life adds so much to this picture. Stunning. Link to comment
dusty2004 0 Posted May 13, 2006 No I do not know what the white lines are. I guess to think that because there is backlighting that these are highlights. I stand open to correction. As well as some advise on how to reduce my files or to make my pictures smaller. My skills on the computer are limited but am happy to aquire new skills. Link to comment
rjacksonphoto 0 Posted May 13, 2006 Roy It may be that this image is over-sharpened. Do you utilize an unsharp mask in post-processing? Link to comment
