nathanielpaust 0 Posted January 28, 2002 This is one of my favorite Alaska images. It also happens to be the view of of my childhood bedroom window. I'm curious what people think of the image. Feel free to review, both in ratings and comments, any of my other images. Link to comment

chris_chedgzoy 0 Posted January 28, 2002 Great pic just too small to view and rate. Please please post a larger image. 800 wide would be nice. Link to comment
marlene_degrood 0 Posted January 29, 2002 Very Nice! Looks like you hit the exposure right on, combined with the right lighting and composition you have yourself a mighty fine photo here. Posting larger photos runs a risk of the image being downloaded off the site and although copyrighted...how would you know if someone a continent away is selling your photo at an art fair? Sure I'd like to post mine larger too so people could see all the details I work so hard to get, but, it's not worth the risk to me.....so try not to be too influenced by those who want you to post larger. Good Job!! Link to comment
nathanielpaust 0 Posted January 29, 2002 I'm posting small images specifically to prevent my pictures from walking away. (as they have in the past) Thus, 400 pixels is the largest that I'm willing to post. As to the question about forground detail, there really isn't any. The forground is composed of dark pine trees which weren't resolved anyway, and it was further darken by the filter. I should mention that the mountain was about 40-70 miles from my position. The mountain itself is 9077 feet tall and is known as an extremely difficult and dangerous mountain to climb. It's also fairly light-coloured rock which makes it blend into the sky in most photos. That's one of the other reasons why the foreground is so dark, I had to expose to make the mountain more of a middle gray. Link to comment
