douglas_weaver 0 Posted January 28, 2002 Working on tight shots of both male and female. All photographs are done in the darkroom, scanned and uploaded 'as is'. Does this one work? Link to comment
fotografpeterlundberg.se 0 Posted January 28, 2002 I would like to se the picture in a bigger size. As it is now I think its to small. The picture itself work, Im not shore wy. The cropped view and the ( in my eyes, I hope that i dont do anyone sorry now ) "distorted" anatomy. The picture for me raises some questions - and perhaps I could see this one as one of a series. What is yoyr own thought with the picture? Please reply since I think this one was very intresting. Link to comment
douglas_weaver 0 Posted January 28, 2002 The print is actually an 8 X 10. I will scan and put up a larger image. There is something about this model that is interesting. She is actually very feminine, but in this shot her muscle (and lack of fat) is what drew me to her shoulders. This was from some test shots (I want to use the model for a series). Link to comment
nathanielpaust 0 Posted January 28, 2002 This comment really addresses both of the images that you currently having in your folder. They seem to almost be some horrible sculpture of someone being tortured. While that may sound like a bad thing, it isn't. The photos show the human body in a way other than a normal smooth figure study. In short, I like them. (As a side issue, I don't necessarily think it's too small. I recently removed all my photo.net images after finding them in different places on the web... where they shouldn't have been. I'm currently in the process of re-uploading smaller images.) twmeyer 0 Posted January 30, 2002 Your sense of aesthetics is different from mine. The collar at bottom edge and the hot spot near that same edge don't do anything for the shape you have made of this woman. The frame seems arbitrarily placed on a contorted figure, which makes it difficult to imagine what form this actually is. The odd highlight and prominant freckles act like further camoflage, obfuscating the human form, making it a dificult image to "get". Try forgetting what this is a picture of and assess it on the merits you have granted it... t Link to comment
douglas_weaver 0 Posted February 1, 2002 Yes Tom, everybody has different ideas, likes and dislikes, and preferences. Thanks for your comments. Link to comment
gdw 0 Posted February 3, 2002 I will admit that I am woefully ignorant of the female anatomy and embarrassingly deficient in experience. But in my sixty plus years Im not sure that I ever saw that part! Thanks for showing it. Where exactly did you say it was located? Link to comment
dave foster 0 Posted February 16, 2002 Nice light and subject, but I am at odds with the composition: maybe it's just me, but it seems like you left a lot of 'dead space' on the right, but it does help to confuse the eye as to what the subject is. I think I would like to see the subject moved to the right though. Nice work. df Link to comment
ilan_amihai 20 Posted February 21, 2002 the comment is for female and "what is man" . i think that we cant separate this two and for me it s work. i like the light and the contrast great . ilan amihai Link to comment
hallvard_kristiansen 0 Posted March 16, 2002 I like the slightly abstract "biomechanic" effect of the shadows, would be nice to see it bigger. The composition is great. Link to comment
