juliusgrocholski 0 Posted May 5, 2006 Pretty. May I ask what your apeture was set at? Link to comment
sansmeat 1 Posted May 5, 2006 I used my Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 @ f/2 and 1/60. I was actually holding the flower with one hand and shooting hand-held with the other so its not as sharp as I would have liked it to be. Link to comment
garydad 0 Posted May 5, 2006 This is a very pretty shot Bryon. I like the way the yellow and the blue work together. I was going to make a comment about the lack of sharpness but I just saw your statement that your were holding the flower by hand; that being the case, I think it is remarkably sharp! I find the white area just above center a bit distracting but it is still a lovely photograph. Link to comment
sansmeat 1 Posted May 5, 2006 I shot this at f/2 and the DOF is getting pretty thin at that aperture. It was also getting a little dark out at the time and since I wanted to limit the DOF I was stuck with a slower shutter than I would've liked. I have another shot of this flower that I just posted at ISO400, take a look and let me know what you think. Thanks again for your comments Gary. Link to comment
garydad 0 Posted May 6, 2006 Bryon, I think I like this one better. I like it better than the 400ISO version because this version has the strong diagonal of colors-blue against yellow set against each other in a diagonal pattern. That in itself becomes as much of the composition as it is a picture about a flower. The 400 version is a more typical straight on shot that is a picture about a flower. Link to comment
