mightydmcool 0 Posted May 4, 2006 the image in concept is good. a dark silouet on a almost egg shell background. but some small flaws. nothen that cant be overcome thoe. the first is in the lower left had corner. to me thats what draws my attintion first. a small portion of beige surrounded by reall dark black. the contrast shift draws my attintion faster then the smaller ammount in the castle its self. the clouds in the background seem to draw my attintion away also from the object of the image. one last thaing is that the subject its self seems to be too safe. i am the type of person that in landscape images i like more risk. offset, more chaotic placement. throwing some spice into the image. looking at it to me it looks really semetrical, vary "Safe". mabey a more chaotic color sceem would help. or mabey the whole forground black would allow it to be more of a POP. markh1 0 Posted May 4, 2006 Thanks for your comments Matthew. You're right in just about every respect, the thing to bear in mind though is that I don't ever go out to take pictures. If you look in my portfolio, apart from the concert photos, everything else is just something that's caught my attention, and as I always have a camera with me I snap away. I usually use a film camera so I don't run off loads of pictures, I might just take one or two of something that catches my eye. I don't usually use photoshop either as you don't have that facility with film. Once again though, thanks for your comments, they all help me see things differently. Kind Regards Mark Link to comment
