Guest Guest Posted January 27, 2002 Does the technic of seperating backgound and using a colour there makes sense? Thank you all for the feedback. Nathan Link to comment
warren_baird 0 Posted January 27, 2002 In general this may be an interesting technique, but my feeling is that it doesn't work too well here... Clearly the accordianist (sp?) is the focus of the picture here, and the red background takes my attention away from her and to the background... If anything, I'd suggest going the other way, and trying a bit of handcolouring? But, aside from the background, I really like the image. Her curves are nice, and the expression on her face is great. bruce_hamm 0 Posted January 28, 2002 I think this would work better if she remained in colour and you desaturated the background a bit. Link to comment
mg 0 Posted February 1, 2002 After reading the two comments above, I think we would all need to see the original before being sure, but what you did works perfectly fine for me, and once more, what a fantastic expression you captured ! Link to comment
jean_schweitzer 0 Posted February 1, 2002 I do not know how the original is but this one works well for me. Jean Link to comment
mark_j_james 0 Posted May 10, 2004 Hi Nathan. Normally I would agree with Warren. I normally dont like images where the center of attention is removed of all colour, as it normally distracts. However in this image, It really works! The Center of attention could only be the Accordian Player! Excellent use of technique! Mark Link to comment
hugh_hill 0 Posted May 22, 2004 Hi Nathan, I agree with all of the above for each image is as unique to the viewer as it is to the artist who captured it. (Different strokes for different blokes') For me I am a big fan of this type of work and think that both the models posture and expression are great. Credit given where credit is due.
