jmcconnell2 0 Posted March 1, 2005 Hi Nick, this a good b/w composition, the type of subject natter I like, and sharp and clear to boot, 6/6. You rated and commented on my "Lonesome Soldier", and you asked about his unit. This photo was taken within the village of Appomattox Court House, on the battlefield of the same name. This young soldier was from the village, and served with a Virginia Regiment, Army of Northern Virginia, under command of Gen`l Robert E. Lee. Thanks for expressing an interest, regards -Jim. vasilis 0 Posted March 2, 2005 I like it, you have made it to be like an photograph that someone would see in a museum. With a caption of "typical fishing boat of the 19th century". Link to comment

bexta 0 Posted June 15, 2005 Fabulous point of view here and use of filling the frame. I like the paint on effect with the high contrast photo. Link to comment
yankfan 0 Posted March 1, 2006 I like the use of b&w here but if you don't mind my saying, it seems a little contrasty and too centered. I think it might have more impact if the boat were cropped more to the right side of the picture. Sort of leave the viewer wondering where that rope leads to. JMHO. :)Your angle of view is excellent. Aesthetically those are my only quibbles. Originality is such a subjective thing, and I really don't think that should enter into the equation. Again--JMHO. John Link to comment
