markonestudios 4 Posted May 12, 2006 Mind posting the original for comparison's sake, Mark?Mark :] Link to comment
markh1 0 Posted May 12, 2006 I can't because I Changed the photo for this one, basically the blacks weren't as black and there wasn't as much contrast, This is slightly cropped from the original. Personally I think this looks better but it looks as if it's done in sepia, this is the true colour of the photo. The original scored at about 4.7 average. This is going much lower. markonestudios 4 Posted May 13, 2006 That's a shame. Was it a digital file, then? Always a good idea to keep the original for future reference! Oh, well. IMHO, I like the colours on this one. I'm also a drummer, so my eye is naturally drawn to the cymbals and the toms. I only wish the ride/crash on the drummer's right didn't distort the silhouette of his head. I reckon shooting against that light all in all was good idea as it provided a nice hairlight, and nice4 overall colours. I am certain I'd prefer this one to one with 'muddy' blacks and a sepia-like tone.I'm not too hung up on ratings any more, because, although nice to have, they won't really help me learn. I much rather prefer having MANY comments on a low-rated photo because that when I can learn from my mistakes!Best regards from Kenya,Mark :] Link to comment
markh1 0 Posted May 13, 2006 Thanks Mark for your comments, I do have the original but it's on my MAC at work. If you're a musician you may like some of the other photos of the concert in my portfolio. Thanks again for showing an interest. Mark Link to comment
