paula grenside 0 Posted May 7, 2006 Impressive light on the guardian, Jay and a stratified sky captured in all its beauty. Link to comment
lgreene 0 Posted May 17, 2006 Very nice mood from the light and clouds. The gaurdian to me looks feminine with curves and a dress train sweeping around the front -standing out from a forboding scene. Link to comment

jmontgomery 0 Posted September 18, 2006 Very nice Jay. But I have a technical question. You mention in the detail that you used a ND grad filter ... can you comment on where you set the line? Did you then have to 'burn-in' the rock formation since it was covered by the ND? I encounter this frequently (like last night!) and am interested in how you deal with this. Thanks :-) Link to comment
jay_patel 0 Posted September 19, 2006 That is a good question. I used a soft ND filter and set the line just above the horizon. This allowed me to darken the sky and also darken the rock formation that was lit up brightly by the setting sun. Then I waited until minimal amount of light was falling on the rest of the scene before taking the photograph. Alternatively, you can use HDR techniques for taking images like these. Link to comment
jmontgomery 0 Posted September 19, 2006 Thanks ... I have also been playing around with CS2 as you mentioned. But sometimes I like what is in the camera best ... :-) Link to comment
