colin carron 58,916 Posted April 24, 2006 Most impressive - I'm heading for cover immediately after writing this! I like the tonal rang in the sky with the light bits being swallowed by the dark ominous clouds. The foreground and mid ground are very good too and give a real sense of space. You seem to have acquired a silly rating on this......oh well! Link to comment

rkynast 1 Posted April 24, 2006 It feels as though we're about to slide off into the precipice... very nice work; love the IR format, as well. The silly ratings are from 'bots - I posted a photo last week and before I could even click to make sure it was the right one and looked okay, I had one 7/7, two 4/4, and a 3/3, all in less than five seconds after posting - this was at 2:30am. Anyway, this is beautiful and very well-done; a vision of Canyonlands not seen before. Congratulations. Link to comment

aepelbacher 0 Posted April 24, 2006 Gorgeous image, Sondra! I love the drastic impressions in the ground and the sky and the mountain beyond. Ah, the American West! Link to comment

jim kerr 0 Posted April 25, 2006 This is quit a scene, Sondra......Even though the wide angle lens you had to use to compose this makes those sunlite mountains appear so far away, it is still beautiful.....Jim Link to comment
gdanmitchell 0 Posted April 26, 2006 Sondra, to me this is one of your most effective images - I like it a lot. Some things that attract me to it: the dramatic sky, the balance between the dark canyon at the left and the light sky at the upper right, the way that the lower foreground area almost exactly balances the sky area, the wonderful monochromatic tones, the lower right to upper left diagonal I see between the plant in tehe corner and the mid-distance ground leading the eye toward the distant peaks. Very good. Link to comment
