cyrus khamak 0 Posted April 24, 2006 I like this a whole lot. I don't think it's about smooth transitions or tonal range or stuff like that. It looks like an abstract/ semi abstract painting with a smaller palette. I like the deep, rich red you have been able to achieve against the rich yellow green inner part of the tulip. I really do think this is one of the better tulip shots I've seen. I do, however, like this better in a vertical as such. Great work here, Cyrus Link to comment
cyrus khamak 0 Posted April 24, 2006 I emailed you twice, some interesting technical info to the address provided by PN but was returned both times. My address is Ckhamak@aol.com. Drop me a line, I'd really like to send this to you. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted April 28, 2006 The more I look at this, the more I like it(and you know how I yawn over flower photos...). I do like cyrus's idea of vertical composition, too. It's hard to beleive that you shot this with your little point and shoot... Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 65 Posted April 30, 2006 Right on, sister. I just read your bio about censorship. I'm sorry that I missed the exchange--and that is precisely what is wrong with censorship, that one never knows what it was that someone didn't want others to read. I like these simple pictures. They make me want to do some macro work myself, something I have been putting off learning about. --Lannie Link to comment
snakecharmer 0 Posted April 30, 2006 Not really macro; too broke for expensive lenses. I just used the close-up mode on my Powershot. Thanks for your support on my position vs. censorship on this site. It is good to know that a few people are actually reading my bio because this means more are becoming aware of this really crappy catch-22 that's been going on here lately. Link to comment
