yasumasa_yanagisawa 0 Posted April 18, 2006 Full sized replica of the roof top of a famous temple at Asakusa, lost in the last war. A mark at the center is that of temple, not of Nazis. Link to comment

yann1 0 Posted April 18, 2006 By the way, I take this opportunity to emphasize that this symbol is the symbol of buddhism, nothing to do with nazis. And I've found your work interesting too, by the way. Rgards Link to comment
yasumasa_yanagisawa 0 Posted April 18, 2006 Jim, Asakusa is a nostalgic place even for people of Tokyo. May be only one place that has been keeping real old Tokyo: Variety of food, attractions, traditonal festivals, all photogenic. There are a lot of pics of Asakusa in my portfolio. And I will show you one in your folder. Yann, we call this sign as "Manji". There are two forms by the direction, left and right. This is the left one that is used in Japan and the symbol of Nazis, as a shape, is the same with the right one but turned 45 degrees. Of course we know they came from deffrent origin but western people may reminds it. Link to comment
