Great pic. I like how you used the color to capture the importance of the moment. I'm a big baseball fan, and I think your shot should be in Cooperstown.

Nice swing, but even better photo processing skills. Even when viewed "larger" and I can only find a few tell-tale signs of tampering. Great job! What did you use for selection tools to isolate the players and umpire?

#1: Wheres the ball?

#2: Why take color away? It makes an already lacking photo lack even more

#3: Empty seats - makes for a better background, but makes the photo even more lifeless than the B&W does.

 

I know baseball is having problems, but this makes it seem completly dead! And no, this doesn't belong in Cooperstown, I delete these types of photos as they are of no value, especially with no ball.

I really like this. The colours complement each other really well and there is a nice linear balance to the composition. Removing some of the colour has worked well in this instance. The only real disappointing aspect is the shadow on the refs face.

I think here the desat works, but I would have kept it slight; I mean not a full desat, just so that the subject pops out ...
