Holy Fraternity

This is my last series of photos of Europe since my military tour

here comes to an end soon. My last trip was to the city of Sevilla

for the world known celebration of Semana Santa.I got right into the

parade and go this photo before the cops tried to grab me.I hope

y'all like it!

And to think that these are presumably fairly normal Spanish men! Any relation to our own KKK here in the States?

The outfits have nothing to do with the KKK. The KKK copied the idea from the catholic fraternities. This pratice has beeing going on WAY beyond the narrow minded scope of the KKK.

Looking back at my earlier comment it seems a bit curt and judgemental which I did not intend. I apologize if I offended you. I come from a very Catholic background and, in fact, spent a few years as a member of the K of C with fraternal chapters here in the States. I am certain that this fraternity, like the K of C, does a lot of wonderful charity work. Nonetheless, I have some reservations about secretive societies and they no doubt came to the surface in the comment I made. But we are here to discuss photography, not religion and politics. In that respect, this is an exceptional image.

It is exactly that , Secretive, that makes this a powerful image. You did a good job capturing the moment, composition ,lighting. So pardon me if I find this photo disturbing, scary even.
