The Remains of Ladner Pier

dbcooper

Remains of post-Hurricane Katrina fishing pier. Pre-Katrina, it was a nice public fishing pier that extended over 800 feet into the Mississippi Sound, with a boardwalk, railings, weather shelters, 24-hour attendant, and a couple of small buildings near the shore end. People would frequently fish all night long. This is all that was left standing after the hurricane; photo taken 6 months later at sunrise. I was out testing a new 80-400mm lens. The lens was racked most of the way out for this shot, jpg straight from the camera, tripod, no filter, regular matrix metering, Nikon D70s.

Sunrise at the wreckage of a fishing pier seven months after Hurricane

Katrina. Trying out a new lens that morning, camera on a tripod,

watched the seagulls until one was in the frame and tripped the

shutter. Thanks in advance for any comments, critiques, and ratings.
