I rarely find the time to post on here, but I had to this time. As others have said, your photos of Daniil are timeless. This one is even better than the other, but both are beautiful. I would make a very large print and hang it on the wall, and I would be very proud to have taken these photos. I could even see these hanging in an exhibition somewhere. They are truly some of the best I have seen on this site in the many years I have been visiting it.

I'll be honest: I just about passed this over when I was looking at it. My first reaction was, "Why would anyone post pictures of a Rembrandt painting here, and what self-respecting gallery would allow photography?" Except that I couldn't remember ever seeing *this* particular Rembrandt.

It didn't make any sense, so I looked harder.

And then I realized what I was looking at.

Amazing, my friend. This is truly an exceptional photograph. I'm humbled, and glad to have had the opportunity to have seen it.

i just love this so much, and the other one too (i don't mind his 'awkward' hands, or the way they're cropped off.) but this one, i love it so much, it's such a surprise, it's magic, so beautiful. you're a painter. i wish it was mine.

Doug - you took the words out of my mouth! Thought it was a painting all along, and the colours really remind one of Rembrandt. Could the photographer perhaps fill us in with a bit more background?

When I fist saw the photo I thought that you had just been lucky until I saw the rest of your work. True excellence !

10 and 10. As I already told you, this is one of my favorites photos of all I've seen

I'm having a hard time believing this is a photograph, congratulations, it is amazing! I must say that I love paintings (realism, naturalism, impressionism and whatever -isms exist in between) and probably my lack of ability on painting led me to use photography, but definetively you have re-opened my eyes into trying some classic style (painting) photos.
