The fog is clearing or lifting?

The almost empty space makes it tremendous, as if they are somewhere in the outer cosmos.

I think they are just about to enter it, I love the subtle hint of blue sky, the hint of horizon, elements all combine to a beautiful composition. Cheers Ian

Excellent minimalist composition. We see just enough detail to appreciate the fog. The shadow shows that the sun is starting to burn through.
