incoherent1 0 Posted January 21, 2002 May I ask where you found APX 25 in 120 size? I didn't know they still made this film. Thanks. Link to comment
nomade 1 Posted January 21, 2002 One of the most beautiful B&W I've seen lately. I wonder how you gave it that tunnel effect, since it's not mentioned. Have you used a filter at the shot or in the darkroom? Or is it Photoshoped? Link to comment
fp56gallery 0 Posted January 21, 2002 Great work and perfect composition. As the previous commentators I`d prefer the image without tunnel effect. Franz Pritz Link to comment
jmacneil 0 Posted January 21, 2002 i love it. it's so surreal and real at the same time that it does feel like a dream. i think what makes it so great is the red filter. i like the edge effects, it suites what you're going for here. my grandmother sold cameras and photographed for herself; she achieved the same effects by using vasoline on the edge of the lens. how did you get this "tunnel vision"? elaine_roberts1 0 Posted January 21, 2002 Wonderful, dreamy cityscape. I hadn't even looked at where it was shot, but I thought "Russia" right away. I think it would lose a lot without the tunnel effect - that's what makes it so dreamy. Link to comment

bk_tee22 0 Posted January 23, 2002 After few moment I realised that the image attracts me at first glance because of the single file composition, ie the trees, the building, the people. Great shoot. Link to comment

david_quilty 0 Posted January 25, 2002 White on Black sun in your eyes, eyes watering from the wind and cold, a little blury, this photo feels like winter. Audience feels what the photographer saw. Link to comment
mg 0 Posted January 25, 2002 I agree with Bart, this picture is really meant to last long in my mind, and worth at least a double ten - some photos actually beat mathematics...:-) It is simply divine ! I'll be looking for more of your work in the future !!... Link to comment

think27 0 Posted August 12, 2002 Powerful and memorable. This is a very special image that creates a mood of the coldness of winter but the warmth of it's beauty. Link to comment
stik 0 Posted September 1, 2002 Soft edge look is flawlessly done, and it adds icy and frosty feel to the photo. Long shadows add dramatic effect, and the long winter coat flapping...is simply awesome! This is certainly one of my favorite Photo.Net photos. Link to comment

christoph_frick1 0 Posted December 9, 2002 This picture is quite amazing. Although I've never been there, when seeing it for the first time, before looking at the caption, I immediately thought that this must be Winter in St. Petersburg. Just for comparison, I would like to see a version without the fuzzy edge effect -- how was it done? -- If by software, then it would be easy to have various degrees of the effect. In particular when I imagine to look at a reasonably-sized print (i.e., at least 30x30cm), the effect as it is now might be a bit too strong imho. Maybe the feeling would actually be even stronger without the artificial effect. But in any case, definitely a classic picture about Winter in St.Petersburg (even for a person who has never been there). Link to comment
babatunde martins 0 Posted December 9, 2002 Its contrast, quality of depth and composition make this a great image. I get the feeling it was taken from a shoe box. hmm I like that feeling..... Babatunde Martins Link to comment
