My buddy, Chester, at 15. I love this cropping and closeup, but what do you think?

You caught his soul

very nice. good lighting and DOF. brings me right to his gaze. he looks like a very sweet and loving soul.

I can't take much credit for the photo. Everything about it that is good is because of the subject, rather than the photographer. His name is Chester, and he certainly is full of personality and love, as the shot hopefully shows. I've taken loads of shots of him, but this one is the one that truly captures his essence.

Nice toning on this one. The dog is really expressive. The only thing is that I think the right side of the picture is a bit too dark. Maybe you could try cropping that right part? Not sure if it's a good idea.
