terri1 1 Posted April 7, 2006 Literally stumbled into this guy while walking on Capitola pier. Had a 10-22 EF-S on the camera and inched forward on my knees while he kept shying away. Couldn't really compose better. Comments on how to deal w/ a less-than-perfect background welcome! Link to comment
jnicholson 0 Posted April 7, 2006 Quite the contrary, Terri. I think this is an excellent background. Makes the shot original. No blue thing would have been nice but other than that I think it's a great example of these very big birds adjusting to "civilized life". Forgive me if I'm wrong but it looks like you softened the background in PS. Especially since you say you were using the 10-22. If that's the case, I think it was a good decision. Maybe a little more care to avoid the ghosting around the bird. All the best. Link to comment

pturton 10 Posted April 25, 2006 Terri, This bird sure looks out of place, but as mentioned, this really adds to the uniqueness of the image. Very well presented. Best regards, Paul Link to comment
