will king 0 Posted April 1, 2006 This is an exceptional sports shot. I love the shutter speed choice, to add an abstract look to the skiers. Best photo I've seen today. Link to comment
fridolin 0 Posted April 1, 2006 Great capture of the oscillating movement that's so typical for ski touring! Link to comment

sarahunderhill 1 Posted April 1, 2006 Awesome shot. You were at the right place at the right time... and knew how to take a great photo. Bravo! Link to comment
jmoody 0 Posted April 1, 2006 Neat effect! Love the way all the skiers have similar motions and then especially the way the contrast with the sharp ttrees and background. Might've been interesting to see a version focused more on the skiers and with less background as well. Cool idea Link to comment
peterlyons 0 Posted April 2, 2006 Very creative--great concept! Personally I'd prefer it without the distraction of the balloons and such in the background (I guess I'd prefer just trees and snow, given the choice.) But still... what a cool idea! Very nicely done! Link to comment
alexguerra 0 Posted April 2, 2006 Perfect shutter speed. My first thought when looking at the thumb was that the skiers look like ghosts and they really do. I have mixed feelings about the coloured balloons on the background; on one hand they are a bit distracting, but on the other I like their standing still positions and focus contrasting nicely with the motion of the skiers. Gratuluje i pozdrawiam! Alex Link to comment
distantvoice 0 Posted April 2, 2006 Swietne, oryginalne zdjecie. Jaki byl czas naswietlania (gdybym mial zgadywac to ok. 1/4 sec.)? Link to comment

Link to comment

kslonaker 0 Posted April 2, 2006 Caught my eye immediately from the thumbnail. Very abstract effect. I'm a little torn on the top part, too. If it was just the skiers with the trees static, I think it would be even better, imo. Somehow the balloons are drawing my attention too much, I think. I still enjoy this shot and find it very interesting. Link to comment
salvatore.mele 1 Posted April 2, 2006 I also line with the party of those who find the balloons taking too much attention. To me, the strenght of the image is in the motion and the colours of the skiers when opposed to the winter background. This has to have little colours -as it does- and has to oppose a static aspect to the dynamism of the shot, what the texture of the trees does perfectly. I would go with something much tighter, saving the left+bottom third of the surface of the shot. The choice of the shutter time is just great, however, and I like how the ghost appearence of the foremost skiers contrasts with the one at the back, which seem more static. A great idea.
