Guest Guest Posted March 31, 2006 I took this on a clear night. I could have made the streaks smooth by setting a longer exposure. I thought it would be different to see discrete lines for a change. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks for viewing. Link to comment
peterlyons 0 Posted March 31, 2006 Very nicely composed, and appealingly colorful. The length of the lights in the street works for me, too. To my eye the shorter dashes serve to break up the length of the street, as do the various different buidlings along the way. Given the chance to shoot it again, I'd love to see it about half an hour after sunset, so you could use the same exposure settings, but have a deep blue sky. It looks to me like the moon is added. The composition looks to me like it's shot with something on the order of a 28-35mm lens, but the moon looks like it was shot with a short telephoto. It looks unnaturally large in the sky--but it's nicely done nonetheless, and does help balance the composition. Maybe it would fit better with more of an amber hue to it, to play off the warm colors of the lighted buildings. Very nice work! Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted March 31, 2006 Full of colors and I like the opposites of the romantic sky, crowned for a full moon, and the nervous, chaotic land, with hasty its rhythm. Link to comment
peterlyons 0 Posted March 31, 2006 I'm second-guessing my assessment that the moon was Photoshopped in. The photograph doesn't look so wide angle after all, now that I return to it. Is that real? It does look impressive! Almost too good to be true, you know? Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted April 1, 2006 You must be also at a high angle to take this shot. Nicely done Andrew. Link to comment
shiqf 0 Posted April 1, 2006 I agree that the moon is added. Long exposure for street and short for the moon. But still a very nice picture! Link to comment

amalsircar 2 Posted April 3, 2006 Very good exposure, light and composition. I like the broken streaks of car lights, rather than long lines obtained with long exposure. The full moon is bonus.Well done,Andrew. Link to comment
