danaa 0 Posted April 9, 2006 Use a wider lens and deeper DOF. This is isolated country, convey that to the patron. Link to comment
AJHingel 127 Posted April 9, 2006 Abe, the subject is surely there but I don't think you have made the right choices. There is an accumulation of weaknesses: the blurred foreground, the deep black back of the house; the big blue sky, the hills behind without profiles. I would suggest that you keep in mind the place and that you go back to it very late or early a stormy day. The scene in snow might be of interest too. Hopefully the house does not fall before.. niklas hallberg 0 Posted April 9, 2006 I agree with the previous comments. This is great subject matter in a fantastic setting but a larger DOF with better light and some dramatic clouds could make for an awesome picture. Link to comment
carl_huelgas 0 Posted April 9, 2006 Nice house, does anybody live in there? Greetings Carl Link to comment
canada 0 Posted March 18, 2007 I agree with all your comments. I will get here as soon as the opportunity allows. This photo was taken with a lens set at approximately 550mm, so I hope I can be forgiven for the dof problems. There are countless old ranches like this in Alberta; testimonies in my view to the failure of progress as the ideal. Link to comment
