the tail adds more fantasy. however, I prefer the non tail version except the changes in the rocks in the cove. They appear to be mirrored to this version and the farthest rock is quite different. All in all I like the rocks in this one and the legs in the other. The legs with the title make me think of the mermaid story where she gave up the sea.

Jonathan. Thanks for the comment on my mermaid. http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=5070402

I like the tail on yours, but I am staying away from the traditional "Fishy" tail. My idea is that if mermaid is that if they are real, they would not be like 2 creatures stuck together but rather one creature almost dolphin-like. I imagine the body would be more the same uniform color. YOUR MERMAID. Excellent overall shot? BUT? I think the distraction is that you did not keep the sharp crease of the knee that the original human had. PLUS the color tail seem so un-real to me. Here is a sample of what I mean.

Let me know your thoughts on my edit. (keep in mind I was woking from the low-res web pic)

Thanks for showing me your pink-tailed mermaid which is very good. I agree that both the colour and the knee.bend makes sense if you assume an evolutionary development. My concept was more mythical - where no logic is involved. I have noticed that the French, being more practical, have mermaids with 2 fish tails!

Best wishes, Jonathan

You are welcome for the pic edit. I hope I didnt take too much of a liberty. LOL. I guess like art...mermaids are subjective and what people like is like unto ones taste. Living on the coast I have always loved the myth of mermaids, but have often wondered, in that myth does some reality lie? Who Knows. Keep snaping. I love all of your work.
