dchatter 0 Posted March 24, 2006 Just another view of St. Louis, Missouri; shot from the top of the great arch. All comments are appreciated. Link to comment
biplab sikdar 0 Posted March 25, 2006 nice shot from a nice position ... particularly of the road ... the placement of the road in the frame is also interesting ... suggestion of a little bit more contrast from my end (may be due to my monitor as I am viewing it from a cyber cafe of Malda) ... dchatter 0 Posted March 25, 2006 This was a very rainy day... and there is no photoshop tricks to boost contrast... I guess a bit more contrast is possible, but am not sure actually. As always, thanks for sharing your views. Best wishes. Link to comment
LorenzaF 0 Posted March 30, 2006 I saw this ont the other day but didn't have the time to write anything. What I like in this one is the way the various elements are arranged in the frame (a thing that I did not notice immediately), i.e. the fact that the road - although not being straight - goes from corner to corner, dividing the picture in two halves where, on one side, there is the city and on the other a park (?) and the river. Also the fact that the road bends on the right seems to suggest that it is struggling to contain the huge buildings to invade also the empty area on the right ... seems you had a quite symbolic intention ;-) ... With reference to contrast, have you tried to use curves? Lorenza Link to comment
dchatter 0 Posted March 31, 2006 Hahaaa, I'm very glad to see that my messages are reaching people... a very good interpretation you have made Lorenza, I'm so happy. Yes, this is a park, and that little water-body is a small lake. I'm awfully lazy about ps... (I tried curves a bit---it's interesting and quite useful tool, but I forgot to upload the alternate version :)) Here it is now. The earlier version needed a bit more contrast, particularly since the day was very rainy, and it was raining when I shot this---there is good amount of water on the road :) Best regards.
