Your choice of symetry is very good, well seen. The depth is impressive!

Getting the darker (almost) horizontal line on the road (a large shadow), is a good idea. I'm less sure about the effect you've added... You have lost contrast on the edges. Of course, it works with the depth but I'm sure that you could got it without.

Excellent. Full of impact -- the viewer's first response is, Wow! I particularly like that the broken line in the road is not perfectly straight. Of course, the relation between the three broken lines is stunning, as is the balance between the road and the tangle of light-colored branches above. The range of tones used for this image is just about right: It should have this sort of gray feel.

I'm curious, what is the wide shadow in the foreground? Is that from another tree at left? You seem to have done a bit of masking of the area between the trees at left, but it's not quite natural or smooth enough. Try to make it less obvious. Also, the foreground could be a bit sharper. I am being a perfectionist about these details because (a) the photo is so good that it deserves to be perfect, and (b) Alex, you are getting so good that we should be very demanding of you from now on. ;-)

This road seems to go forever. Is it real? Stupid question, I know, of course it's real, but it gives me the impression of sleepwalking. Except from the "bottom line", that is a cold shower, waking me up to reality. Which is good, in fact, I guess. Just that sometimes I would rather dream... I love the way you've done the branches, it looks very filigranated. Did you notice that the fifth or sixth tree - I can't count very well here, it's deluding:) - looks fake, unreal? Are you playing tricks to us or to our mind, Alex? Cheers, S.

Thanks a lot everyone for commenting on this.

Yann, that loss of contrast in the edges was intended to accentuate the tunnel effect. Looking at the untouched version and this one, I really preferred the looks of this, as there was direct low angle sunlight entering through the left side.

Jeff and Bianca, you gotta take risks for the art (:

Chris, the shadow in the foreground I believe was from a tree at the left as you mentioned, but here appearing wider than the others along the road because of the perspective. I'll try to apply your suggestions, thank you very much for those and for the encouragement.

Sabina, who knows what is real? What if our whole lives and world are nothing but someone's dream condemn to last only until the person open his/her eyes?...

Hello Aexandre, this is a perfect shot, beautifully presented.

I always thought those people who stood in the middle of the Champs Elyses to take photos were insane. This looks a little safer.

Regards. Pete

Very impressive point of view, dear Alex. I love it though I prefer the colourtones in the other one. Just my personal taste. Ada:~)

Peter, yes compared to Champs Elyses this one was a piece of cake ;)

Biplab, thanks for viewing!

Ada, I'm glad you took the time to compare both and it's interesting to see how tastes vary; personally, I definitely prefer this one. Cheers!
