Soggy football

This is really a good capture of a sports moment. I hope you had an umbrella!

hehe nope, this is one time I wish I had a digital camera. On one hand I would have known if a had a good enough shot to leave before it rained, but on the other hand I wouldn't have gotten this shot. I shorted out the electrical in my F100 to take it, but it was worth it.

Excellent shot. I love rain shots, but it sure it hell on the equipment, huh! One thing I've been doing is carrying a dry-cleaning bag in my camera bag (they pack up small) and using that in a pinch. Try it sometime.

it looks to me as if the negative has got wet on the left hand side, calling the colours to run. I think this contributes to the shot however. or is there some other reason for the strange turquoise effect?

I carry an assortment of grocery bags (the clear uncolored ones) and rubber bands. Many people ask why the rain isn't blown out from the flash, it's because the bag diffuses it just right. The color shift is from water on the lense. I wiped the lense down between plays and hoped for the best. I accually had to stand on the "wrong" side of the field so the wind would be to my back.

I love this shot. You get the distinct impression that the runner is breaking a long run, after that crushing block by #72.
