liar 0 Posted January 14, 2002 composition is great, I wish I had that chance to take this photo. May be all you need is a fill in flash? or you may go a silhouette Pelican? Pelican is a little dark against the light background, otherwise as I said great photo, a photo that I will hang on my wall. Link to comment
cedarbough 0 Posted January 17, 2002 If the bird was lighter or darker... but PERFECT composition. Link to comment
ken_imduaikiat2 0 Posted January 18, 2002 I got to this one from the "NJROTC flag girl" pic.... All I can say is WOW!!... I'd never seen a pic of any bird captured "in flight" on a wide angle before.... This one is also very very good. Diagonal alignment of the bird's wingspan added dimension and lively movement to the pic. Also the diagonal lines from the raling, the buie in the water, and the dark horizon, from a triangular frame behind the bird which help keep the attention on the bird. The clouds pattern in the sky was beautiful. Also, your keeping the horizon was perfectly flat despite of the speed you need to snap this one with such a good compsition demonstrate good physical skill in holding/panning the camera. I hope that this pic looks as great on the film. Link to comment
jodie coston 0 Posted January 18, 2002 One of the best bird-in-flight shots I've seen. I agree the lighting could be tweaked a little, perhaps re-print, but those wings are amazing, and the background does not distract at all. Nice. Link to comment
bob stewart jacksonville 0 Posted February 7, 2002 I like the angle this is shot from. the feathers extending on the wing add a great touch. Unfortunately the very light sky on the upper riight, and the condos detract a little, but still a very nice shot Link to comment
wim_jiskoot 0 Posted February 10, 2002 A pretty much agree with the above: fantastic composition, unique shot. However, the resolution could be better and the color contrast is bothering me somehow. In addition to what has been mentioned, the bright spot at the upper right and the too intensely blue sky are disturbing. A little less contrast and desaturation might help to improve the picture.
