One of the best photos I have seen here on photo.net. Very bold and dramatic. Sharp as a tack. Great exposure. Do you really use the 18-55mm lens on this shot?

One thing that stikes me as a little odd is the fact that the sun(set?) is int the background, but this side of the house and grass is illuminated? Just doesn't seem to be a realistic photo. It's a good shot, but I think the highlights stand out as being a little overdone.

Just my 2 cents

Would like to thank those who take the time to comment, critique, just look. This is a 'composite' photo as identified in the technical details and was categorized in the digital category when originally submitted for critique. There is no deception intended.

"Technical Details Separate sky and ground photographs combined in this composition."

And to Will King: Yes, I know this lens doesn't earn outstanding reviews but with a tripod and low enough f. stop, well, many of the shots in my portfplio result from this lens.

Excellent photo and I don't think the highlights look overdone at all. The blowing grass, abandoned farmhouse, and brilliant sky create a stunning composition.

Will, I believed you were asking about whether he really used the 18-55. My experience with that lens is that aside from being a cheaply made, plasticky, rotating front filter, plastic mount lens....it is actually very sharp. If you stop it down and use a tripod you get awesome results from that lens, as can be seen here.

IM not a fan of digital alteration... but when I look at your photo, It look very great ! Perhaps, I think the side of the house that we see is little to light... It should be a little darker because the sun is behing the house. Also, maybe some shadow on the grass at the front of the house would make this photo look more real. But, its is a digital alteration so its ok ! I like it very much ! good work !
