Alone, up to the top

There are a lot of winning elements in this shot. First and foremost, the scale of the man in the mountains. I know you know my pictures, so I know you know this is important to me. Then , we have the effort, epitomised by the posture with the poles to the front, like also the arms are needed to elevate him to the place where he will see the other side, the crowining of the effort, which we know so well.

The composition with the trace in the foreground works very well, and works also nice the contrast between the bright parts of the shot (and the almost silhouetted man) and the darker intermediate layer, before the brighter top.

It is interesting to have the nice series of focal planes, aka ridges, in this shot as well as a human element. They are often to be found in separate pictures.
