davidnoble 0 Posted March 20, 2006 Found a cemetary in the middle of nowhere whilst exploring the Scottish Borders. Added a solarizing filter on PS, but apart from that, this image is as it was. I really like this one. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted March 20, 2006 I like the strong graphical quality to this image David, however to me the exposure is a little on the dark side. I would have preferred to see more detail on the cross. Very cool subject matter though. Regarding the sky, I've never used the solarize filter myself, and it does create an interesting surreal atmosphere, I just don't find it adds anything to the image overall. Have you tried adjusting the brightness/contrast selectively on it to add to the spooky moodiness of the cross? Just my opinion of course, I recommend you put it into the critique queue to get more rounded feedback. Cheers, Bond. Link to comment
paulogama 0 Posted March 20, 2006 I like the composition a lot. Strong and powerful. I do like the low light here. Cheers Link to comment
davidnoble 0 Posted March 21, 2006 Thanx 4 the comments, guys. I did spend time altering the brightness & contrast in this image. I think there's enough detail on the cross to show the viewer that it's stone. In response to your question regarding the sky, Bond, it defo wasn't as dramatic before the filter was added. Cheers. Guest Guest Posted March 21, 2006 Hope you don't mind David, I just took the liberty to do a quick and dirty version of what I was talking about. Not saying it's any better, just another way of looking at it. If you want it removed, just let me know. Cheers Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted March 21, 2006 Just a slight brightness/contrast adjustment. Then selectively dodged the cross. It was very quick and dirty, if you were to take the time, you'd really be able to bring out a lot of texture from that stone. Link to comment
