tomtomtom 0 Posted March 15, 2006 This is my first foray into self-portraiture -- a high key sculptural abstract... Comments? Link to comment
snakecharmer 0 Posted March 16, 2006 Good shapes; definitely original. Your shaved head works great in this one. I am not sure about the high key treatment; though it does add a nice softness... This is one of those few photos that really needs a frame for presentation. I guess what I am trying to say is, the light tones don't exactly pop against the white background I am viewing this against, but could work well with a dark frame around it. Link to comment
tomtomtom 0 Posted March 16, 2006 Maybe I should add that, as you are totally right... gray on gray... Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted March 16, 2006 This is pretty cool, took me a minute to sort this one out. Good strong lines here,it's an interesting idea worth pursuing. I would try this about 17 more shots to see if you can get just the right angle and assortment of shapes, but this one turned out nice regardless. Hope you're getting out to SXSW sometime this week... would love to see some shots from that melee! later -e- Link to comment
tomtomtom 0 Posted March 16, 2006 Thanks for the comments! I think we all need to take a series of each of these strong ideas we have...(you are Jenny are on some cool idea tracks :) ) I took a few of these but not enough to really explore it... must do this weekend. Yeah, I'm going out to Sixth Street Friday... but didn't get a SXSW pass this year... building a house. Next year, we will be close to downtown, and watching films and bands like crazy... I may take the (little) cam out tomorrow for some candid reportagey bits. :) Link to comment
sideris 0 Posted September 16, 2006 Ups! Your mind is flying over unspoilt lands! Strange and captivating, plenty of originality. I like it, one of those shots I watch hours and hours finding new meanings each second. Well done Thomas.- PS: I agree with the recommendation about the black frame. Link to comment
