You have captured a very nice portrait. The exposure and framing are excellent as is your choice of background. The only thing that is missing to me to make this a superb portrait is the lack of catchlights in the eyes.

A great composition but you need to add some light with a reflector and get some catchlights in the eyes to make this portrait come alive.

Very nice. The muted colors and his expression work well together. I don't think the catch lights are important here personally.

Nice shot. I agree with the catch light comment, either a reflector, or a very small amount of fill flash.(perhaps - 1 stop, below the camera calculated fill flash.)Also is it my imagination, or are the eyes not in completely sharp focus? I think the boy's right eye (left side of photo) could be sharper.

Nice Eyes, eyes and mouth are sharp, in focus,

the wood baground is a good idea and the angle

of the head of the boy give something unusual.

He look very serious.

I can't tell what is good or bad, I like it, just a question of taste.

Just a little light catch in the eyes of the boys (sun ...) maybe a plus

I love this portrait, the only flaw being the overly dark eyes which lack color and detail.

So I couldn't resist a little photoediting to bring out some detail in those handsome (green/blue?) eyes.

Whatcha all think? (see next comment for pix)

Great job Jim. The boy's expression is strong, great composition and depth of field.
