gss 0 Posted January 13, 2002 You have captured a very nice portrait. The exposure and framing are excellent as is your choice of background. The only thing that is missing to me to make this a superb portrait is the lack of catchlights in the eyes. Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted January 13, 2002 I know nothing about taking portraits, but I know I love this. Lovely colours and background texture. Link to comment
randall_shafer 0 Posted January 14, 2002 A great composition but you need to add some light with a reflector and get some catchlights in the eyes to make this portrait come alive. Link to comment
jillmyers 0 Posted January 14, 2002 Very nice. The muted colors and his expression work well together. I don't think the catch lights are important here personally. Link to comment
bob stewart jacksonville 0 Posted January 14, 2002 Nice shot. I agree with the catch light comment, either a reflector, or a very small amount of fill flash.(perhaps - 1 stop, below the camera calculated fill flash.)Also is it my imagination, or are the eyes not in completely sharp focus? I think the boy's right eye (left side of photo) could be sharper. Link to comment
bob fowler 8 Posted January 15, 2002 But I think there is too much space on the left side of the frame. Link to comment
cyrille_mastchenko1 0 Posted January 19, 2002 Nice Eyes, eyes and mouth are sharp, in focus, the wood baground is a good idea and the angle of the head of the boy give something unusual. He look very serious. I can't tell what is good or bad, I like it, just a question of taste. Just a little light catch in the eyes of the boys (sun ...) maybe a plus Link to comment
squirrelman 0 Posted February 17, 2002 I love this portrait, the only flaw being the overly dark eyes which lack color and detail. So I couldn't resist a little photoediting to bring out some detail in those handsome (green/blue?) eyes. Whatcha all think? (see next comment for pix) Link to comment
squirrelman 0 Posted February 17, 2002 For some reason, the photo did not attach to the previous post. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 25, 2002 Great job Jim. The boy's expression is strong, great composition and depth of field. Link to comment
ali emre aksu 0 Posted March 30, 2002 Great portrait, it has its own story ! I also agree with Sean that you managed the depth of field very well. Link to comment
