john keaveney 0 Posted March 14, 2006 Excellent, moody and effective image. Is the building cut in? Link to comment
gianlucabasso 0 Posted March 14, 2006 Thank you David and John for your comments. John, the building was there, probably the contrast can create this perception... Link to comment
melresnick 0 Posted March 14, 2006 I like the mood this image creates with its ominous clouds and the building set near the end of the dark landmass. I might crop the left side beyond the edge of the land, but I'm not sure whether I actually prefer what Basso has done in placing the building in the center of the image. One odd thing. The horizon is horizontal, yet the building seems tilted to the right. That can't be, I thought, and I put the image into Photoshop and overlayed a grid. The building and horizon are both perfectly aligned. Does anyone else see what I think I'm seeing? Are the angles of the clouds and land creating this effect? Link to comment
gianlucabasso 0 Posted March 14, 2006 Hi Mel !! what a intriguing question !! I tried to see what do you describe and I probably see what have you seen. Anyway I can assure that the building and the sea where exactly there. The problem could be linked to the road that you can perceive on the right which moves down and that could change the perception of the symmetry of the building and the horizon....probably ! treeffe 0 Posted March 15, 2006 Very nice view and presentation. My tought about lines: I perceive the same feeling the church seem not aligned, I dont' know if the picture is the original frame or a crop in this case could be simply the lens distorsion. best regards -Fabio- Link to comment
