I'm not sure what you are trying to communicate. The image is simple street scene in Chile. It doesn't appeal to the non Chilean eye... meaning it doesn't really look much different than a street in California, or Canada in the summer.

There is a green hue to the image. What does this come from?

In terms of composition, I personally don't like images with horizon's or with too much going on. I'm not realy sure what you want to draw our attention to in this image... the motorcycle driver, the street, the street light sticking into the composition? What is the important subject in this image?

I compared this to another image in your folder on Chile. Again, same thing, what are you trying to communicate on Santiago?

I simply share these comments with you as constructive criticism. Keep photographing and discover what you see, discover a pattern in your images. Perhaps, this image would fit very well in a certain body of work. But alone, I'm not sure what you are trying to communicate with it.

Agree 100 percent with Gene. If you have a strong intrest in photography, it would be best to start with the basics and improve from there. Gene has some good suggestions, first know your subject. After you pick your subject eliminate everything that competes with it. Good Luck!

I have to agree with the previous two comments. This is a snap shot with no or little thought into composition or subject. You need to concentrate on a main theme in your photograph and try not to include everything in the frame. A good way to learn about framing is to cut out a 6x4 rectangle (i.e. standard 35mm photo size) on a black piece of card. look at your subject through this opening in the card and move around until you find a pleasing composition. You have to start seeing like a camera! Hope this is of some help to you!

what are u trying to convey? What is the centre of interest? What mood or flavour do u want the shot to have? I am not sure what u wanted to achieve in this photo, there is not much that engages me on an emotional level or appeals to me graphically. i would go back and reshot something similar asking those questions - as i am starting to learn myself, i need to question why i photograph certain things

You've gotten some excellent advice here. I'll add mine, as a bit of experience which may help you take better photos. When you aim and think about pressing the button... imagine the shot as wallpaper in your computer. Does it make you happy, will it cheer you up or drive you into a meditative mood? Is it just a nice image to look at or is it that only you can tell why you took the picture? In any case, you may reshoot this photo using a filter (slight overexposure for the horizon) and adding some kind of attention center (the motorist, against a huge bunch of cars, for instance, shot with a wide-angle lens). This, and your Avenida Suecia shot, may need to be redone. Think about the value of your images when you take out your camera and that'll help you compose and visualize your photos before taking them.
