david hemmings 0 Posted March 10, 2006 This would be a bad time to be a small rabbit or a mouse wouldn't it? Link to comment
jlt 0 Posted March 10, 2006 Yes it would. Nice DOF. The angle of the owl makes for a good comp. Link to comment

sv solomon photography 0 Posted February 6, 2009 Could the owl have made a strike and a miss? Nice action shot with beautiful simplicity. It's wonderful how the reflected light from the snow lights up the underside of the bird. Keep up the great work! Link to comment
john_yu4 0 Posted February 6, 2009 So, were you OK at the end? :) Very nice shot indeed, but I'm not sure if I want to be in front of these fearful eyes :) Link to comment

stp 6 Posted February 6, 2009 I'm a biologist and I try to be a photographer, and this image is absolutely stunning. I can hardly imagine the conditions that have to come together to get a shot like this. Is it simply being in the right place at the right time, or do you actually lure the owl (as surveyors for spotted owls do)? A big part of my appreciation for this and similar photos is the difficulty in seeing and being at the moment. Link to comment

alaskapix 0 Posted February 27, 2010 Looking through your portfolio, I will state that for most of us (as mere mortals), photo's like this are pure luck. You seem to capture birds in great positions. Thanks for sharing; I'm still trying to figure out how you do it. Link to comment
