alex_hawley 0 Posted April 16, 2001 Great Job! Good portrayal of the dignity and beauty of Highway 50. This is America's highway as far as I'm concerned. Link to comment
michael2 0 Posted April 19, 2001 Maybe I am missing some sort of play on the words highway 50, but all I see is a little crossing over a swatch of asphalt. If it truly is the road you are trying to capture the spirit of, then you certainly need to show more of it. If not, and there is some other meaning that I have somehow missed, then just ignore me. dan_andrews 0 Posted April 19, 2001 Jeroen-- I gotta agree with Michael. If the timelessness of the road is significant, show the road. The fence and the fake-cattle-crossing are interesting subjects in and of themselves, but the angle of the shot makes it difficult to get a sense of the fence. The digitial element is clever, but because of the composition I couldn't tell at first if I saw a dashboard or a watch (then I glanced at my wrist and realized the image you used was a watch.) Improvements? 1) Use more of the road, or more of the fence. But not both. (2) Bring the watch into sharper focus, and perhaps show more of the watch. What works: This shows a great deal of original thinking and creative use of details combined with environment. Nice job in terms of concept. Link to comment
jeff_clark 0 Posted September 16, 2001 These last two folks may mean well, but perhaps they've never driven the stretch or have lived in areas of painted cattle gaurds, and scenery that doesn't change for hours on end. On top of the geometricle aproach he took with this image, he also added the chronograph digitaly. Did you buy that nice watch after a good day at the casino? :-) Link to comment
