Simple yet beautiful! Very impressed by the curve in the lake and how it curves into the horizon. I would've preferred a bit more exposure in the foreground, but it is still a beautiful take!

BTW, how would you rate your 5D compared to your 20D? I have heard things like the photograph quality/continuity is a bit lower due to the lower density of pixels.

Excellent work. Good composition, colors and sharpness. Congratulations on another fine job Kah

Thank you Ashutosh, Julio & Rui for your critiques. This one appealed to me because of the combination of curved & straight lines. I do not own a 20D for comparison, I also have the D70. I really noticed the step up in resolution from 6 to 12 megapixels but the 5D is not a forgiving camera to use. It makes greater demands technically and with the other equipment used. I don't feel this 17-40L lens is as good as the Nikon 12-24 I usually use. Lens distortion is a problem that is not always easy to correct. Maybe I should have bought the 16-35, though a lot more expensive.

I like the colours in this one. The curvature gives it a sense of movement in the stillness of the water. Well done.

Real nice composition of water amd shore. The angle of sky reflected in the water is very beautiful, the smoothness of the whole and the texture of the shore are adding to its beauty.and the color range as well! well seen and rendered.

Thanks to all for their comments on this photo. It seems to have generated a bit of late interest in people perusing my overall portfolio. Personally I was not that taken by this initially but having reviewed this on several occasions recently I am finding it holds my interest more than some of the dramatic shots I took around the same period.
